White 1 is the necessary clever move. You may wish to see 1 and 5 as Bian He finally being able to put two feet firmly on the ground, or you could consider White's play as restoring his two stones to their rightful owner (or both).

Baduk World is a Korean monthly magazine published by Oromedia. It is an excellent magazine for amateurs, but perhaps the most important aspect for a western audience is that the editors take a genuine interest in western players. They visit western tournaments, write about them and about western visitors to Korea, and the magazine also features a regular column by Les Waller.
