Part of the site is also the Hangzhou branch of the Zhongguo Qiyuan, which organises the playing of Go (weiqi) in China, and there is also a bookshop and library on the 4th floor, as well as teaching rooms, which were usually full of young children studying and being taught. It is easy to get the feeling that most of them would be stronger than any of the contestants in the WAGC.
In front of the Tower, there is a fountain with a go bowl with a tree growing from it, engraved with the ten famous go maxims of ancient China. It is surrounded by Go stones.
