This position was the one used in Gekkan Go World to epitomise Takagi's interest in strange positions. He was Black here, and it was Takemiya Masaki who was acting strange, in the Judan in 1998. Not as strange as all that, perhaps - Honinbo Jowa played a very similar move in 1821 against Shinomiya Yonezo, though admittedly not till move 30.
