Shuho in fact was an early version of Fujisawa Hideyuki - rather prone to blunders. This one, when he was at the top of the go world in 1884, is known as the Meijin's Sorrow. His opponent here was Kobayashi Tetsujiro who also boobed.
What they both missed (as Shuho wrote up later) was that Black 119 was a horrendous mistake. To make matters worse, Shuho apparently overlooked that even after 122, Black still has a ko with A, and so there was a much bigger move elsewhere.
Black could kill with 119. We show how a little way down the page in case you wish to try to find the solution yourself.
