Although Rin Kaiho played White 1 against Kono Rin on 27 June 2002, Yoda said this was just following Black's orders, justifying the high pincer instead of the usual low one.

He presented this diagram to show the expected outcome, though Kono actually played 4 at 6.




He also used the above diagram to show, by tewari, why Black does not answer the move White actually played with what appears to be a natural sequence in the corner.

This is the same as the above diagram except that Black has done White the favour of not obliging him to play the 1-2 and 7-8 exchanges above which strengthen Black.
