When eventual winner of the Ing Cup, Chang Hao, tried the marked stone, it was reported as a novelty in China. But he was not the first to use it. It seems to be yet another Korean invention. Chang himself believed it appeared first in the 8th Samsung Cup preliminaries when Pak Cheong-sang played it against Kong Jie of China.
